AMTROL Thermal Expansion Tank (ST-5) The AMTROL ST-5 thermal expansion tank is designed to prevent system damage caused by pressure fluctuations in commercial and industrial heating or cooling systems. It accommodates expansion and contraction of liquids in closed system applications. Constructed with a 5-gallon steel tank and a Butyl diaphragm, it operates at a maximum pressure of 75 psi and temperature of 250°F. The tank is equipped with a 3/4" NPT female inlet and outlet connection for easy installation. This thermal expansion tank ensures system efficiency by absorbing pressure surges, maintaining system pressure within safe operating limits, and reducing the risk of costly leaks and equipment failures.
