More About Strap Sensors

What Is a Contact Temperature Sensor?

A contact temperature sensor is a type of temperature sensor that measures the temperature of an object (pipe, duct, etc.) via physical contact with it and it's secured with a clamp, strap, or wires. A contact temperature sensor can be in the form of a thermocouple, RTD, or thermistor. The most common contact temperature sensors are thermocouples. These sensors can work at extreme temperatures and fit many application areas: from industrial manufacturing to home automation hubs.

Benefits of Using Contact Temperature Sensors

There are many benefits of using a contact sensor over other types of temperature sensors. One benefit is that they are more accurate than non-contact sensors. Another benefit is that they can measure the temperature of objects that are in motion, such as moving liquids or gases. Additionally, contact sensors are not affected by electromagnetic fields like some non-contact sensors can be.

What Are Our Best-Selling Strap Temperature Sensors?

Our best-selling strap temperature sensors are the 22HT-54 and 22HT-52: these contact sensors feature housing plastic boxes for added safety and more accurate readings. Belimo 01ST-5Q3 strap sensor is designed for use with pipes and arched surfaces.
